Future of Cannabis

Cannabis is a growing industry across the country and the numbers prove it. Recently published studies show more usage of cannabis than alcohol. With Illinois’ expansion into the weed business, we’re seeing broader cultural acceptance, stricter guard rails, and the flush of capital up for grabs. For our panel, we were joined in-studio by Block Chicago's Linze Rice, Mika Stambaugh with cannabis advertising co-op Acannability, and CEO Ambrose Jackson of The 1937 Group, an Illinois-based cannabis company.

Vocalo Radio Signs Off After Two Decades On-Air

The station gave some of Chicago’s biggest stars their start, including Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, Jamila Woods, Saba, Ric Wilson, and a burgeoning mix of independent rap, soul, and R&B artists to citywide and national recognition. “We built relationships and championed artists,” a former station director said. “It’s a loss for Chicago culture.” Founding member Ayana Contreras spoke with 'On The Block' about the station's end.
